Weekly Syllabus

12 through Friday, January 16
At the conclusion of this week we
will reach the midterm of the Winter trimester.
By Friday, the school year will be halfway over!
But we still have a lot to do. This week we will spend
a bunch of time in the period 1862-1863 learning about
the issues surrounding the Emancipation Proclamation.
It will involve a group project and part of your grade
will depend on my evaluation of how you use your time
together in class.

American Recruits)-411 (1863:The Tide of
Battle Turns).
Wednesday,
January 14, 2015 (45 minutes)
Topic: Discussion
of the reading.
Homework: Read "Who Freed the Slaves?" handout. Be
prepared to write about it tomorrow. You may take
notes directly on the handout.
Thursday,
January 15, 2015 (50 minutes)
Topic: "Who Freed
the Slaves" in-class writing and discussion.
Homework: Work to finish up your Antietam project.
Friday,
January
16, 2015 (40 minutes)
Topic:
Time in class to finish the Antietam project.
Homework: Read AP&AN, pp.
411-416 (1864:The Final Test of Wills).
